Halfway between my father’s Burgundy and my mother’s Tuscany, I found my Luberon. It was 1995, and I made this wild mountain with its strong agricultural tradition, this terroir with its unparalleled light, the setting for my first great winegrowing adventure. Becoming a winemaker in this land took a lot of thought and a lot of forgetting. Learning to tame the sun while allowing nature to play its essential role. Understanding the merits of the concept of blending in these southern lands. Venturing elsewhere without forgetting my roots. To find a balance here too. To seek to produce wines that are dictated by their place of origin, healthy and easy to digest.
And above all, there are the men and women who bring this project to life. They are the essential link in the whole, and I have every confidence in them. Through their actions, their knowledge, their enthusiasm and their loyalty, they bring the estate to life vintage after vintage! Big up to Allal, Steven, Marie and Emmanuel. Wine agents, wine merchants, restaurateurs, sommeliers, importers, journalists and wine lovers from all walks of life, each in their own way, take up the baton to highlight our wines. Many thanks to all!
Blending. Terroirs and grape varieties. Searching in every gesture, every decision, for the best way to retranscribe the spirit of a vintage. Find the combination that best represents the identity of the place and my tasting desires. Work the vineyard as sustainably as possible, according to the principles of organic farming. Find solutions to adapt each year to the challenges presented. To accompany the harvested grapes as simply as possible in the cellar. Being patient, to give each cuvée time to find its right balance. And every year, to start again…
This is the story of a Burgundian winemaker who came to Luberon. He drew on his roots to make unique wines in the south.
A family call and a timely proposal put the winemaker back on the road. Today, from north to south and south to north, each vintage is written in the plural.
