White wine from Burgundy. 100% Chardonnay. Appellation Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru. Viticulture respectful of the environment and the people who live and work there. Natural winemaking, aged 18 months in demi-muids, bottled unfiltered.
Planted by my grandfather Albert Morey, this old vineyard with its deep, rich, stony soil is the immediate neighbor of Les Caillerets. These old vine stocks tend to give us very ripe grapes, often with millerandage, a concentration that is well reflected in the sunny side of the wines produced. Slightly sloping and bordered to the west by a high wall, it enjoys an earlier micro-climate than the other parcels on the estate.
This is the story of a Burgundian winemaker who came to Luberon. He drew on his roots to make unique wines in the south.
A family call and a timely proposal put the winemaker back on the road. Today, from north to south and south to north, each vintage is written in the plural.
