Red wine from Burgundy. 100% Pinot Noir. Appellation Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru. Viticulture respectful of the environment and the people who live and work there. Natural winemaking, aged 18 months in demi-muids, bottled unfiltered.
Planted by my grandfather Albert Morey, it is, along with my sister Caroline’s, the last Pinot Noir vineyard in the Champs Gains appellation. A Premier Cru that was once planted almost entirely with red grapes. Here we find all the finesse of Chassagne’s great 1er Cru terroirs in red, with lovely morello cherry notes and a fleshy, not so powerful body. This terroir is particularly well-suited to Pinot, ensuring a constant supply of water and draining off any excess humidity before harvest, enabling the grapes to reach perfect ripeness and health.
This is the story of a Burgundian winemaker who came to Luberon. He drew on his roots to make unique wines in the south.
A family call and a timely proposal put the winemaker back on the road. Today, from north to south and south to north, each vintage is written in the plural.
